Responsibilities
The first responsibility is for the member's own individual safety and the safety of fellow team members. If members of the team are not operating in a safe manner, the safety of other team members and of the mission is threatened.
Therefore, each member:
- Must come properly dressed for the current and potential weather conditions and the type of terrain of the area involved.
- Must have proper equipment in the 24/48 hr. pack. If not properly equipped, the member will not be allowed to be a part of the mission.
- Must be physically well and capable of the type of mission called for.
- Must be sensitive to the effects of fatigue and stress on themselves and their fellow team members. It is up to the individual to say when they are too tired to continue, preferably while they can still get out on their own.
